Components

Electronic components are the general term for elements and devices. They are components of electronic elements, small machines, and instruments. Usually, they are composed of several parts and can be used interchangeably in similar products. They often refer to certain parts in industries such as electrical appliances, radio, and instruments, like capacitors, transistors, hairsprings, and clockwork springs.

Electronic components are composed of two main parts: electronic devices and electronic elements.

Electronic Devices
These refer to finished products whose molecular composition remains unchanged during factory production and processing, such as resistors, capacitors, and inductors. Since they do not generate electrons themselves and have no control or conversion effect on voltage and current, they are also known as passive devices.

Electronic Elements
These refer to finished products whose molecular structure has been changed during factory production and processing. For example, transistors, electron tubes, and integrated circuits. As they can generate electrons themselves and have control and conversion functions (such as amplification, switching, rectification, detection, oscillation, and modulation) for voltage and current, they are also called active devices. According to the classification standards, electronic devices can be divided into 12 major categories, which can be summarized into two main categories: vacuum electronic devices and semiconductor devices.

Commonly used electronic components include resistors, capacitors, inductors, potentiometers, transformers, diodes, transistors, MOSFETs, integrated circuits, and so on.
