Vishay introduces knob potentiometers to simplify design and optimize cost for industrial and audio applications

Recently, Vishay Technology Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE stock code: VSH) announced the launch of two built-in knob switch - P16F and PA16F, IP67 sealed new panel potentiometer. The P16F is a revolutionary concept in panel mounted potentiometers. This unique design consists of a knob driving and incorporating a cermet potentiometer. Only the mounting hardware and terminals are situated on the back side of the panel reducing to a minimum the required clearance

The recently released devices integrate the knob and panel potentiometer in a single assembly, eliminating the need to purchase and assemble separate knobs. In addition, only the mounting hardware and terminals are located on the back of the panel, and the required clearance on the back of the miniature potentiometer panel is less than 15 mm.

The PA16F utilizes a conductive plastic resistor core for audio applications, and the P16F metal-ceramic knob potentiometer is suitable for industrial motor drives, welding equipment, HVAC and lighting systems, and control panels. The devices are fully sealed to IP67 standards for reliable operation in extreme environmental conditions.

The potentiometers can be customized with knob scales, resistance values, wires and connectors, as well as detent and switch options. The devices are also available with metal knobs upon request.The P16F and PA16F meet CECC 41000 or IEC 60393-1 test standards.
